For the final release of our Holiday collection, we worked with DSNY again to present a new officially licensed assortment celebrating New York’s Strongest. The Department of Sanitation has been coined the world’s largest sanitation force through their efforts of collecting over 24 million pounds of trash and recycling every single day throughout New York. Working for Sanitation goes beyond just picking up trash off the side of the street, as they are also responsible for street cleaning and snow removal in order to keep New York clean.
For our Holiday DSNY campaign, we wanted to highlight not only the heroic New Yorkers that keep the city clean, but also the deep rooted generational ties that take pride in working for the department. Sanitation garages are littered throughout the city’s interior and foster family-like relationships amongst the workers and the communities they serve. In the case of this campaign, everyone is actually related. Fathers, brothers, and sons working alongside each other, with careers spanning a strengthened 20 years and retired to a fresh 4 months and blossoming.
The family can't help in their off hours to be found enjoying down time together in a garage, whether it be the department’s or their own at home. The evenings spent there are filled with spinning records, smoking cigars, and engaging in conversations about life in and out of the job.
We aimed to honor this level of camaraderie and community through developing a collection presented through that very lens. The collection includes a knit sweater, a crewneck, two long sleeves, a t-shirt, a hat, and a pair of socks.
Available now online and in-store @ 176 Stanton St. while supplies last.
