As we mourn two pillars of New York City, The MetroCard and The Orange Subway Seats. Faithful companions of the daily commute, witnesses to millions of stories and icons taken before we were ready. The MetroCard got us in. The orange seats kept us there. Together, they carried a city for decades.

They were part of the ritual - the first swipe of the morning to the last train home. They saw & heard more New York stories than anyone ever will. The good, the bad, the transfers, and the steady comfort of “stand clear of the closing doors.”
